Couch Cuddling

I love to cuddle on the couch.

I cuddle with John.

I cuddle with my children.

I cuddle with a warm blanket.

I even cuddle with Daisy.

Everyone needs to cuddle sometimes.

Cuddle with a sister who reads to you until you fall asleep.

Cuddle with a family pet who licks your face to show she cares.

Cuddle with Daddy on movie night.

Everyone needs to cuddle sometimes.

Pumpkin Cookies

Okay, so maybe Pumpkin Shaped Cookies is a more accurate description.

My creative and clever husband John made the children a stencil for a Jack o'Lantern face. Isn't it cute?

Here is a picture of Joshua looking at his cookie. He hadn't eaten any of his dinner and I told him he had to eat a few bites before he could have a cookie. When the cookies were ready, I pulled his dinner back out of the fridge. Even seeing and smelling the yummy cookie wasn't temptation enough to eat any meatloaf, mashed potatoes or green beans.

While rolling out the dough, I ate too many little bites and feel a bit ill. Oops.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

John's mother's birthday was August 1st. We were actually in Virginia Beach and were able to attend her birthday party. I want to tell you a little about Grandma.

Grandma loves babies! Ethan doesn't let very many people hold him but Grandma just whisks him away and he is perfectly happy to be with her! I love this picture of Grandma and John.

Grandma has done a wonderful job of raising 8 children. She loves each and every one of them.

Grandma loves to dance! Here is a picture of her dancing with John at Rachel's wedding.

Grandma recently graduated from Norfolk State University. We are so proud of you!

Grandma loves to go to the movies. If you ever want to go and are wondering what you should see, call Grandma-- she's likely seen them all and can tell you which are worth seeing!

Our children are so lucky to have Grandma in their lives! I grew up really knowing my grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. I want my children to have this same experience.

Thank you Nancy for being such an awesome mother and grandmother! We love you!

Fun in the Snow!

Okay, so these pictures are from January and now it is March. I really agree with "Better late than never" in this case so here they are!

We all played in the snow this day. My children were excited about me coming out because last year I was pregnant and didn't go out much. Why bother if you can't go sledding at top speed down the hill just to throw yourself off of the sled before it goes over the drop off and into the woods???

This was Ethan's first time in the snow! He really enjoyed it and smiled a lot. When my other children were first introduced to the snow, they were curious but didn't really smile and eventually cried to go back inside. Ethan stayed outside for at least twice as long as the others did as babies.

He even let us lay him down in the snow and help him make a snow angel!

We actually didn't get much snow this winter and the children are disappointed. Abby keeps commenting on the lack of snow and I'm sure I'll continue to hear about it for a few more months or even until next winter!

At least they didn't lose any of their Spring Break like they usually do. My parents are going on a cruise for Spring Break so we are staying home the whole time. We hope to go bowling as a family on the discount day.

Fun, fun, fun!
