Joshua goes potty!

I was fixing dinner when Abby came to me and said, "Mommy, Joshua pulled his pants down and took off his diaper!" Of course, I went to see what was going on. Joshua was in the living room and I asked him, "Do you need to go potty?" He didn't answer so I picked him up and went into the bathroom. There was already pee in his potty! He uses the potty when I ask him to and sometimes tells me he needs to go but this is the first time he has taken care of things by himself. Go Joshua!

Later on, I asked Joshua if he needed to go potty and he did so I took him into the bathroom. He took off his diaper and then went pee standing up! It was so funny because he uses a little potty! I've never seen a child do that before. I guess he must have seen Jack peeing standing up at some point but I don't know when because Jack is actually quite private about these things. Today Joshua sat down about half of the time and stood up about half of the time. I've figured out that rewarding him with a piece of chocolate helps him remember to go!

Three Boys in a Room!

Ethan has been sleeping in his Papasan swing since he was born because it was the only way he would sleep well. His doctor told me it was perfectly fine to keep him sleeping in the swing but that now might be a good time to try moving him to his crib before he gets more stubborn.

I wasn't expecting it to go very smoothly but he has done very well! His crib is in the same room as his two older brothers so it is a little tricky.

We have been putting Joshua and Ethan to bed at the same time. Joshua turns on his aquarium music and Ethan will just lay there listening to it until he falls asleep. I can actually leave him in his crib AWAKE!!! He usually sleeps from 8:30 PM to 5:00 AM. What a good little baby!

Ethan Loves His Feet!

Ethan LOVES to play with his feet! He doesn't like to wear socks because it makes it harder for him to hold on to his feet. He even plays with them in the car!

Ethan Rolled Over!

Well, Ethan has rolled from his stomach to his back! The little stinker did it for Daddy when Mommy was just out of sight! I mean, being a stay-at-home mom, I'm supposed to get to see all of this stuff and then he did it without me!

He has recently discovered how fun it is to play with toys!

Why a Blog?

Everyone keeps saying I should start a blog for one reason or another. I have decided to start a blog for several reasons but mostly as a way to share my happy family moments with those who care!

When I first started this blog on September 13th, I originally named it "Three Boys and A Girl" because that is what I have. I look at mothers who have email addresses or license plates such as Jakesmom and think, "Why would they use that as their email? Do they see themselves as just a mom and have lost their own identity as an individual?" But when it came to naming my blog, I guess I do mostly see myself as a wife and mother. It's what I love and I wouldn't want it any other way. That's not to say that I don't sometimes wish for one day by myself. I sometimes think of sending them all away to Grandma's for a vacation without me. I'm sure other mothers will agree that THAT would be a real vacation! Of course, I'd probably miss them terribly after about 3 hours. Maybe a trip to the movies would be better. LOL I have started my blog over because I wanted to name it something easier for my friends and family to remember. I couldn't figure out how to just change the address.

Here is an introduction: My name is Heidi and I have been married to John for 10 years. We live in a rural area with about 5 million bugs on our acre. We love to play games, watch our favorite shows together, go on family outings, read books and much more. Jack is our oldest. He wants to be a Robotics Engineer someday and has already starting drawing his designs. He plans to make me a robot that will do all of my chores so that I'll have more time for fun. Abby is amazing at memorizing lines from movies. She uses these lines in her everyday conversations and it just makes me laugh. Joshua was a very fussy baby but is now a very easy going independent and lovable child. This gives us hope for our newest addition, Ethan, who is also fussy baby. He suffers from an intolerance to dairy and soy and is on a prescription formula called Neocate. He is very cute especially when he laughs. He sleeps through the night but only in his swing.

Life around here is crazy! Check back to learn about the craziness!
